Independent creative production agency Chisel is helping Gatorade highlight how much sweat elite sports stars lose during an intense game or session, in a series of spots for the AFL.

“Building on Gatorade’s strong track record of democratising science, we loved how Chisel aimed to introduce a new metric into a modern sports landscape already awash with statistics as teams & athletes jostle for a competitive edge,” said Gatorade Brand Manager Brad Fisher.

“The Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) team put top AFL/AFLW players through their paces and found they are losing up to 2.8L of sweat every hour. That’s where we come in, because they’re losing more than just water with every litre of sweat.”

The spots feature Geelong’s Tom Stewart, St Kilda’s skipper Jack Steele, and AFLW powerhouse pair the Prespakis sisters.

Chisel co-founder and director Zak Kaczmarek said of the spots: “Chisel’s aim is to continue working with the biggest names in sport, and there’s none bigger than Gatorade & the AFL.

“I can’t wait to see where our new partnership with the brand takes us. It was ambitious, shooting 3 spots with multiple athletes on a single day. I was pumped that our team could pull it all together. I couldn’t tell who was sweatier, the athletes or our production crew”.

The AFL spots are rolling out now, with the AFLW one launching in September in conjunction with the start of the season.
